User Data Deletion Instructions

Request deletion

1. Email legal@36seas.com from the email address associated with your First Mate account.
2. Use the subject First Mate Data Deletion Request and identify whether you used Facebook Login. Do not send your password, Facebook access token, payment-card information, or manuscript files.
3. 36Seas may ask you to complete a reasonable identity-verification step before acting on the request. This protects your account and manuscript from unauthorized deletion.
4. After verification, we will confirm the request and delete or de-identify eligible account information and Author Content within a commercially reasonable period.

Disconnect Facebook

You may also remove First Mate from Facebook through Facebook’s Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites. This stops future Facebook access but may not, by itself, delete information already maintained in your First Mate account. Send the deletion request above to complete that process.

What may be retained

Limited information may remain where required for transaction records, fraud prevention, legal obligations, dispute resolution, security logs, backups, or an active publishing, licensing, or agency agreement. Retained information remains protected and is not used for unrelated purposes.
